Conduct & Culture

Conduct

Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny.

Action and behaviour (employee conduct) consistently demonstrate the values of an organisation. Does this map to it’s culture?

If not, then change systems and process,  but It is  the behaviour and attitude of people that create the shifts in a culture.

‘Your behaviour’, ‘Your mind-set’, ‘Your accountability’

A few drivers of culture include:

  • Setting the tone from the top
  • Translating this into easily understood business practices
  • Supporting the right behaviours through:
    – Performance management
    – Personal development
    – Reward: financial and non financial

Culture

Each of us belongs to multiple cultures – national, individual and corporate – that give us messages about what is normal, appropriate, and expected.

In a corporate culture, when others do not meet our expectations, it is often a cue that our cultural expectations are different. What is common to one group may seem strange, counter-intuitive, or wrong to another. Values are at the heart of organisation culture, so it is critical to examine how non-alignment of values may propagate behaviour that is not acceptable and may damage the reputation of a firm.

The ability to work within an organisation culture has become a business critical skill for Senior Managers working within Global organisations, since there is a need for further consideration of local culture.

Our half-day workshop, ‘Culture & Values’  is aimed at providing participants with an understanding of how corporate values translate into a  national culture, which may result in non compliant behaviour.  Participants need an awareness of both  local and organisational culture together with strong communication skills for improved cross-cultural decisions,  implementation of actions and most importantly  good conduct

Benefits from attending the workshop:

  • Raising awareness of how cultural attributes affect the way individuals behave in work
  • Have a clear insight into the impact of culture on people and process
  • Practical strategies for effective cross cultural communication to engage and drive business objectives in a compliant manner
